Chakras are centers of energy, located on an energy-line in the midline of the human body. There are seven of them, and they govern our psychological properties.
The meaning of the different chakras
The root chakra or the 1st chakra is linked to health. Is is about being physically present and the feeling of home. When it is open, you feel grounded, stable and secure. You feel present in the here and now and connected to your physical body.
The Sacral chakra or 2nd chakra is linked to harmony and feelings. When it is open, your feelings flow freely, and are expressed without you being over-emotional. You are open to intimacy and you can be passionate and lively.
The 3rd chakra on the Solar Plexus is linked to courage and strength. It is about being able to obtaining and maintaining your own personal power. You have sufficient self-esteem and feel and feel assertive in a group.
The heart chakra or the 4th chakra is linked to love. When it is open and balanced, you are compassionate, kind, affectionate and friendly, and you work in harmonious relationships.
The Throat chakra or 5th chakra is linked to our creativity. It is about self-expression and talking. When it is opened, you express yourself in the most truthful manner and you are also able to receive and assimilate information.
The Brow chakra or 6th chakra in the middle of the forehead (third eye) is linked to intuition. It is about insight and visulatization. When it is open, you have a good intuition and can learn from your experiences and put them in perspective.
Our 7th Chakra, the Crown chakra, is about wisdom and being one with the world. When this chakra is open, you are unprejudiced and quite aware of the world and yourself.
